All teachers must take and pass one or more exams depending on your teaching assignment.

 

You must pass the Praxis II and/or Pearson tests in order to teach in our partner school district. It is your responsibility to take and pass all of your exams. Teach For America does not pay for your tests, so be sure to factor the cost of testing into your budget.

 

If you do not pass your certification tests, you will be unable to teach in Charlotte-Piedmont. Hiring is dependent on registering for and passing the required tests. For this reason, we have set a strict testing timeline and urge you to begin preparing now. We have found that when corps members have planned ahead and prepared adequately, they have been able to pass these exams. If you have concerns about passing your exams, please contact Nina Yu.
